Location: Chippenham
Salary: Β£40,185 Per Annum (+ Enhanced Call-out pay)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday based on Double Day shift – 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are working with a worldwide organisation, leading the way in print industry, looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased) to join the business, and continuously improve their expanding team.
Within this role you will maintain efficiency in all areas of the factory. This includes reactive and planned maintenance with industrial manufacturing machinery. You will also be involved in projects and continuous improvements to site.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reactive Maintenance on automated production machinery
  • Pre-planned Maintenance (PPM) – Input to and carry out preventive maintenance routines
  • Mechanical fault finding Β· Electrical fault finding with and without diagrams (three phase and control systems)
  • Fault finding and repair on hydraulic or pneumatic systems
  • Small installation projects
  • Continuous Improvement to maintain optimal machine efficiency
  • To keep clean any areas in which you are working, including transit areas to and from the workshop, the workshop and stores
  • Support the Operations team in achieving targets
  • Complying to the company\’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Contributing to cost effective technical solutions
  • Deliver to the operational expectations
  • Be part of a weekend call-out rota

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A relevant recognised engineering qualification in Electrical engineering to a level of City and Guilds level 3/ NVQ level 3
  • Experience working in a small team and must have an aptitude for dealing with mechanical/electrical works, breakdowns, repairs and fault diagnosis
  • Strong mechanical skills to repair machinery to keep downtime to a minimum
  • Preferably, some electrical fault-finding skill in particular on PLC\’s, drives and inverters
  • Excellent mechanical fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams
  • Pneumatic skills and experience
  • Knowledge of HV/LV Switchgear and electrical drives
  • Understanding of PLC\’s, their function and program modification/fault finding (Elec)
  • Ability to organise and schedule own time, and stay on top of own workload
