We're recruiting an experienced Electronic Warfare (EW) Specialist for overseas operational deployments. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for former military EW professionals who want to transition their operational expertise into high-impact, contractor-led missions overseas.

Location: Overseas deployments (rotational) — specific theatre provided to shortlisted candidates.

Contract type: Fixed-term contract / ongoing contractor opportunities.

Security: UK/Allied security clearance preferred (or ability to obtain).

About the role

You will lead and deliver EW capability and advice in an operational environment. The role is focused on mission outcomes, capability development, and mentoring/leading multi-disciplinary teams in austere and dynamic overseas settings. You will represent EW subject-matter expertise to host-nation partners and internal leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level EW leadership and subject-matter expertise in mission planning and execution.
  • Advise commanders and program leads on EW tactics, integration and mission risk.
  • Directly supervise and mentor junior EW operators and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support capability development: CONOPS, tactics, procedures, and lessons-learned capture.
  • Coordinate with intelligence, SIGINT/COMINT, cyber, and ISR stakeholders while maintaining OPSEC.
  • Assist in training, assessments, and partner-nation capacity building as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal and export-control requirements.
  • Proven operational experience in electronic warfare (any discipline: ECM, ELINT, SIGINT, ESM, spectrum management) gained in military or defence contracting roles.
  • Senior military leadership background (W/Cdr, Lt Col, Major, Commander, equivalent) or equivalent civilian seniority with operational command experience.
  • Experience operating overseas or in deployed environments under austere/contested conditions.
  • Strong understanding of integrating EW with wider ISR, cyber and kinetic effects (high-level conceptual knowledge rather than technical disclosure).
  • Hold or be eligible for appropriate national/allied security clearance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to brief senior leaders and produce clear, concise documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop small teams under pressure.
  • Experience working with coalition or partner-nation forces.
  • Previous contractor / industry experience supporting deployed operations.
  • Additional language skills relevant to deployment region.
  • Instructional or training qualifications.

What we offer

  • Competitive contractor day-rate or salary commensurate with experience.
  • Rotational deployment package (travel, accommodation, per diem) and insurance.
  • Professional development, training and onward career support.
  • A chance to apply high-value operational expertise in meaningful, partner-facing missions.

This role requires overseas deployment and may involve extended rotations and enhanced vetting. The employer will remain confidential; full details are provided to shortlisted candidates under NDA. Applications from veterans and ex-service senior leaders are strongly encouraged.
