First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a HIU Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. As a HIU Service Engineer, you will be required to service and repair various types of HIUs. This includes the commissioning of heating circuits, setting up Domestic Hot Water for resident use, application of efficiency settings and the ability to carry out first time repairs. Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged but all applications will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all Quality Management and Compliance Documentation for HIU Servicing and reactive repair activities is correct and complete for each site.
- Proactively drive Legislative and Contractual Compliance, profitability, and customer satisfaction within the customer portfolio.
- Provide technical assistance to clients, and work colleagues whilst fulfilling and meeting both Quality Standards and HSE Objectives.
- Proactively manage customer HSE objectives and Quality Standards and ensure the adoption of Safe Working Practices during the works within Residential Properties.
- Make effective recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Produce a high standard of work and provide detailed job reports.
- Support and assist your colleagues where necessary.
- Servicing and repairs to Hydraulic Interface Units by carrying out a first time fix.
- Stock control to ensure you have the required levels of components to carry out a first time repair.
- React to Hydraulic Interface Unit repair works to investigate the cause of breakdown and where possible, service the HIU and carry out efficiency settings to heating and hot water circuits.
- React to client requests outside of the working hours by accepting requests and attending to residential breakdowns to the service level agreement during your period of being on call.
- Updating the client only via your job report and provide limited information to the resident so updates can be provided to the residents by the client.
- Provide training and advice to new employees and support their development.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Served a recognised apprenticeship and/or be qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ level 2 in Plumbing/HVAC with Electrical qualifications and registered to the appropriate body as required for the role.
- Servicing and fault diagnosing on Hydraulic Interface Units.
- Electrical qualification to the latest Edition of BS 7671 that includes modifying current electrical controls.
- Willingness to study for relevant Industry qualifications is essential.
- Good customer service skills.
- Hot Water Systems or valid unvented hot water certification.
