Overview: First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who are seeking an HVAC Engineer to join their growing operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in HVAC systems, building maintenance, and facilities support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring commercial office environments are maintained to a high standard, whilst supporting ongoing maintenance, repairs, and fit-out activities across multiple managed sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems across commercial office spaces
- Diagnose faults and perform first-line repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment
- Conduct site inspections and identify requirements for major repairs or specialist contractor support
- Monitor contractor works on site and ensure all work is completed to the required standard
- Perform general maintenance duties including basic plumbing, minor electrical works, leak repairs, and general building maintenance
- Support office fit-outs and tenant move-ins, including installation support and equipment setup
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report ongoing issues where necessary
- Ensure all works are completed in line with health and safety regulations
- Provide professional support and communication when dealing with tenants, clients, and contractors
- Assist with light carpentry, decorating, and general facilities maintenance where required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HVAC Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar role
- Good working knowledge of HVAC systems, fault finding, and maintenance procedures
- HVAC qualification or relevant engineering certification desirable
- Experience using maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Full UK driving licence desirable
