Location: Shepreth, Cambridgeshire (Covering the UK)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Per Annum + Company Vehicle
Working Hours: Monday – Friday

Personal Profile:

First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of our client, who are a global company that supports users of vibration test systems with installation, maintenance, repair, calibration and consultancy. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join an established yet expanding business with an excellent opportunity of career advancement.

The Field Service Engineer builds and maintains relationships with customers while supporting the development of on-site installation, servicing and repair processes of Vibration Test Equipment and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
  • Evaluate systems and make recommendations for improvements and solutions.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on customer sites in line with recommended procedures.
  • Talk with customers and understand their needs, communicating the requirements and timeline for their system plan.
  • Work with a team to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Travel around the UK and overseas to install and maintain industrial testing equipment, sometimes on short notice.
  • On occasions be prepared to work in excess of the normal 37.5 hour week or anti-social hours whilst observing contractual obligations.
  • Be familiar with all Health and Safety rules and regulations when working.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to a minimum NVQ level 2/BTEC in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent. An HNC in a relevant subject and knowledge in vibration would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experienced in industrial plant maintenance and have a strong background in engineering and substantial knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering
  • Well versed in problem solving and have good analytical skills to be able to work under pressure while using own initiative to complete the work to the required level.
  • Proven experience in working in some or all of the following areas are essential: industrial electronic systems, mechanical fitting, fully conversant in electrical/electronic principles.
  • able to read circuit diagrams
  • fault-finding to sub-assembly level and diagnosis of electronic faults to component level would be a distinct advantage
  • Self-motivated, work well independently
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and easily adaptable – sometimes with short notice and at weekends.
  • Valid Passport and Full UK Driving Licence.
