First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic business that is looking to recruit a Facilities Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth, located at their RAF Cranwell (Sleaford) depot. As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working alongside the military on and around an active Military Airfield, providing support and ensuring a suitable legal and functional environment for future military pilots with a Whole Force approach – Tri Service, civil servants, and contractors, all working seamlessly together to deliver.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will lead in delivering all hard facilities management services and associated contract outputs.
  • This includes ensuring legal compliance across various building systems such as:
  • Heating and Ventilation
  • F Gas
  • Lifts
  • Industrial Doors
  • Water Systems
  • Chiller Plant
  • Pressure systems
  • Alarm systems
  • Fixed Electrical systems
  • Lighting Systems
  • You will also produce maintenance reports, keep records, and update computer-aided systems.
  • Additionally, you will implement safety procedures and manage the supply chain to uphold high safety standards.
  • Skills and Qualifications:

    • Recognized engineering qualifications with relevant mechanical or electrical experience, such as:
    • Heating and ventilation Level 2 & 3 NVQ Diplomas
    • Electrical Level 2 & 3 NVQ Diplomas
    • Plumbing and Domestic Heating Level 2 & 3 Diplomas
    • H&S training (e.g., IOSH)
    • Full UK Driving License (manual transmission; pool car available for on-call, or fuel allowance)
  • Additional skills include:
    • IT literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
    • Understanding of H&S procedures
    • Excellent communication and client liaison skills
    • Customer service orientation

    Remuneration and Benefits:

    • Salary: £33,600
    • Working hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and paid call-outs (additional pay)
    • Benefits include: call-out rota, enhanced pay rates for evenings, weekends, and holidays, generous holiday allowance, pension scheme, life assurance, employee share scheme, shopping discounts, special leave for reservists, holiday trading, and volunteering days.
