First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic business that is looking to recruit a Facilities Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth, located at their RAF Cranwell (Sleaford) depot. As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working alongside the military on and around an active Military Airfield, providing support and ensuring a suitable legal and functional environment for future military pilots with a Whole Force approach – Tri Service, civil servants, and contractors, all working seamlessly together to deliver.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will lead in delivering all hard facilities management services and associated contract outputs.
- This includes ensuring legal compliance across various building systems such as:
- Heating and Ventilation
- F Gas
- Lifts
- Industrial Doors
- Water Systems
- Chiller Plant
- Pressure systems
- Alarm systems
- Fixed Electrical systems
- Lighting Systems
Skills and Qualifications:
- Recognized engineering qualifications with relevant mechanical or electrical experience, such as:
- Heating and ventilation Level 2 & 3 NVQ Diplomas
- Electrical Level 2 & 3 NVQ Diplomas
- Plumbing and Domestic Heating Level 2 & 3 Diplomas
- H&S training (e.g., IOSH)
- Full UK Driving License (manual transmission; pool car available for on-call, or fuel allowance)
- IT literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Understanding of H&S procedures
- Excellent communication and client liaison skills
- Customer service orientation
Remuneration and Benefits:
- Salary: £33,600
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and paid call-outs (additional pay)
