First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Engineer Surveyor (Electrical) on behalf of our client. In this role, you will be inspecting, testing and reporting on fixed electrical installations and electrical plant equipment, helping identify defects early and ensuring systems remain safe, compliant and operational. Your work will play a key role in helping customers maintain compliance with key UK electrical regulations and ensuring safe working environments. Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military engineers, but all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out thorough inspections and quality assessments of fixed wiring installations and electrical plant.
  • Complete detailed and accurate engineering reports.
  • Ensure customers remain compliant with essential UK regulations, including the Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times and represent the company professionally.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ideally Level 4 qualification in electrical or engineering discipline with strong hands-on experience as a domestic and/or industrial electrician.
  • Alternatively, Level 3 electrical qualification with extensive practical experience and willingness to work towards Level 4.
  • Testing and inspection experience (City & Guilds 2391 desirable).
  • Experience working in hazardous areas (CompEx advantageous).
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
  • Strong IT and written communication skills for producing detailed reports.
