Overview

First Military Recruitment are seeking a full time Electrical Installation Lecturer to join one of our prestigious clients based in Uxbridge. You will teach on a range of programmes in the relevant subject area, including EAL and City & Guilds courses.

You will be qualified to Level 3 in Electrical Installation, with experience gained within the industry, and some teaching/training experience. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team, and with many training and development opportunities and scope for promotion within the College, you will be embarking on a varied and rewarding career. We will support you to develop your career in teaching, including fully funding the level 5 teacher training qualification.

Duties & Responsibilities for the Electrical Installation Lecturer:

  • Full time – 36 Hours per week.
  • Teach on a range of programmes in the relevant subject area, including EAL and City & Guilds courses.
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and resource materials for teaching programmes.
  • Assess students’ progress regularly including the timely marking of work and giving feedback, both written and oral.
  • Promote Equal Opportunities and implement the College’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Provide a secure, safe and friendly learning environment including implementation of College’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • Skills & Qualifications for the Electrical Installation Lecturer:

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
  • Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET/PGCE) or willingness and ability to work towards a level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College.
  • Assessor award (A1 or equivalent) or willing to obtain.
  • Experience in the electrical installation industry.
  • Teaching/training experience in the subject area.
  • Experience of assessing people in the workplace.
  • Ability to engage with vocational learners aged 16-19.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Good classroom practice.
