MS617 – Electrical EngineerSalary: £16.83 – £18.43 Per HourLocation: LlanidloesOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.To provide technical support in the correction, prevention and elimination of technical problems for the site and to work with production during factory start up.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that the company health, safety, environment, hygiene and animal welfare policies are adhered to.
- Responsible for managing and closing out all equipment failures, work orders and PPM jobs.
- Responsible for data entry for all parts used & jobs raised & completed.
- Responsible for housekeeping of all workshop areas including the stores and ensuring that the department is audit ready at all times.
- Responsible for your own engineering hand back procedures.
- Ensure all work is carried out to specification and that standards are met.
- Ensure that targets are met using the appropriate technical support in the correction, prevention and elimination of problems.
- Demonstrate a clear teamwork ethos with the engineering department and across other departments.
- Excellent timekeeping, attendance and adherence to company procedures.
- Chooses the most appropriate method and tools for communication.
- Respond promptly and effectively to ensure quick resolution to any issues to minimise any downtime, quality and efficiency problems.
- Participate constructively as a member of the department, keeping everyone informed and proactively share your knowledge and expertise within the team.
- Understand and contribute using a range of risk assessment techniques in order to ensure safety of plant, equipment and people.
- Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness of quality, safety and the environment including animal welfare.
- Demonstrate good behavioural and safety principles in all activities.
- Continually strive to reduce costs whilst ensuring production downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Be adaptable to any shift pattern that the company deems necessary for the business.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A recognised qualification for mechanical and electrical engineering.
- The candidate should have an understanding of engineering requirements and preferred if they have experience in an FMCG chilled environment.
- A good aptitude / understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be determined and able to demonstrate closure of all jobs.
- Demonstration of the above through theory and practical assessment, both on the job and off the job and at all times.
- Competent IT/computer skills including Holistech literate.
- Actively seek opportunities for self-development and learning.
- Attend training courses as identified by legislative / company requirements.
- Identify training and development opportunities.
