Overview

:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Customs Coordinator on behalf of one of our clients.

You will play an important role in international trade, ensuring goods move smoothly across borders while complying with all customs laws and regulations.

This role offers hybrid working.

Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel however, all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete import and export custom declarations.
  • Classify materials and products in line with UK customs tariff.
  • Provide 3rd party customs brokers with clear, precise and concise instructions.
  • Provide support to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders in relation to the customs clearance process.
  • Monitor status of customer entries to ensure smooth clearance.
  • Quote and process internal freight bookings across multiple modes of transport.
  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of UK customs tariff.
  • Experience within a customs-based role, 2-3 years at least (Couriers, hauliers, shipping, aviation, etc).
  • Experience dealing with customs brokers.
  • Understand the terminology, abbreviations and acronyms of the industry.
  • Experience of customs software, ideally ‘agency sector management’ (ASM) Sequoia.
  • Experience of access to CSP’s (community system provider) – Destin8 and Pentant.
