We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management of materials, parts, and equipment. The role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and effective collaboration across departments to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for raw materials, parts, and equipment.
- Identify and qualify suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimise procurement spend.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
- Analyse market trends and risks to anticipate supply disruptions or cost fluctuations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing with operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships.
- Prioritise requirements, collaborate across teams, report progress, and drive improvement.
- Clarify order queries with suppliers and advise on significant plan variations.
- Allocate and prioritise tasks within the team, support and motivate staff, and manage performance.
- Provide regular reporting of procurement performance, including KPI tracking.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a procurement manager, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supply chain management, and vendor negotiation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing materials (metals, plastics, electronics) and production timelines.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- CIPS, APICS certification, or equivalent is a plus.
