AL970 - CNC Shift Lead
Location: Bath
Salary: £57,000 Per Annum
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a CNC Shift Lead on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
The successful candidate will lead shift operations within a CNC machine shop environment, ensuring production targets, safety standards, quality requirements, and continuous improvement objectives are achieved while maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead shift operations to achieve production targets and daily performance goals.
- Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage Team Leaders and oversee labour allocation, performance, and training needs.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence and promote a positive team culture.
- Oversee daily machine shop activities, troubleshooting issues to maintain workflow.
- Ensure accurate job bookings, reporting, and operational records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce scrap.
- Coordinate maintenance and TPM activities to ensure machine reliability.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and support audit compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
- Demonstrable ability to set and run the majority of machine tools within defined processes.
- Ability to lead through organising, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating team members.
- Open-minded, change-oriented, target-driven, methodical, supportive, and forward-thinking approach.
- Positive, proactive, and approachable leadership style.
- Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.
- Computer literate.
