Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Welding Instructor on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promoting and supporting apprenticeships.
  • Training young people through engineering study and apprenticeship programs.
  • Delivering regulated qualifications (comprehensive training and support will be provided).
  • Using personal and industry experience to guide learners to achieve their full potential.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, plating and sheet metal work with expertise in one of these disciplines.
  • Qualified to City & Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety practices and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
  • A passion for teaching, empowering learners, and sharing personal and professional experiences.

Desirable

  • Assessor and teaching qualifications (not essential as full training will be provided).
  • Certified TWI coded weld inspector/trainer (not essential as full training will be provided).

Benefits

  • 42 days annual leave (including bank holidays). We ask that all staff save 7 days to take during the Christmas shut down between Christmas and New Year. Holidays can be requested at any other time of the year.
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 16:15 and Friday 8:00 – 16:00.
  • Annual bonus payment dependent on organisational performance.
  • Pension scheme: 5% employee contribution and 7% company contribution.
  • Life insurance (4 x annual salary).
  • Private health care (after a 3 month qualifying period).
