Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently searching for a Stores Person on behalf of one of our clients.
This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and versatile operation. The SP will be a key team member responsible for supporting both workshop and customer-facing operations by ensuring all Sales and Works Orders are picked, packed, and processed accurately and efficiently.
This role requires an individual who is methodical, trustworthy, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility is key, as tasks can vary day to day and may include the delivery or collection of goods using company vehicles, requiring strong communication skills and a professional demeanour.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical components (especially diesel and petrol engines), experience using electronic parts catalogues (EPCs), and a high level of physical fitness and manual dexterity. Computer literacy and good communication skills are essential. A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
Forklift certification and knowledge of microfiche or paper catalogues are advantageous but not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Pick and pack components and major assemblies (e.g., engines or gearboxes) for Sales and Works Orders using appropriate handling equipment.
Process all parts through the company’s stock control system (e.g., Sage), including allocations and returns.
Prepare and pack items for shipment, ensuring all goods are well protected and correctly labelled.
Arrange shipping for domestic and international deliveries; liaise with the Sales team on shipping costs and customer requirements.
Raise dispatch notes after verifying customer payment status.
Book deliveries with couriers or freight providers.
Load and unload delivery vehicles using forklift or other materials handling equipment.
Collect or deliver goods using company vehicles as required.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of company exhibitions when necessary.
Identify and communicate personal training needs.
Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and appropriate PPE.
Foster a flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities in line with business needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Good mechanical knowledge, particularly of diesel/petrol engines and component parts.
Familiarity with electronic parts catalogues (EPCs).
High level of manual dexterity and physical agility.
Competent in using stock management systems (e.g., Sage) and basic computer applications.
Excellent communication and comprehension skills.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Forklift licence (desirable).
Knowledge of traditional parts cataloguing systems (desirable).
