First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic Events Management business who are looking to recruit a Senior Venue Technician on a permanent basis due to growth.

The business mainly provides services to corporate events which generally take place on weekdays, although some weekend working will be required, and there is a high degree of flexibility regarding working hours, as well as an understanding that this is not a 9‑5 job.

This is a diverse role.

You will have the chance to increase your AV experience whilst helping to produce fantastic events.

Ultimately, your success will be demonstrated by the successful execution and creation of great looking events.

As a Senior Technician, you will assist with client liaison and take some responsibility for managing other technicians, freelancers and crew.

You will have to coordinate your activities with several others, and ultimately your performance in this role as part of a production team will enable live events to proceed smoothly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review jobs with colleagues to ensure that the equipment specified can fulfil requirements.
  • Liaise with the client and brief, direct and coordinate on‑site crew when required.
  • Set up, install and operate equipment on‑site at live events.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of the rig and de‑rig of jobs.
  • Help maintain the on‑site AV equipment and manage a small AV storage area.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of installing, configuring, and problem‑solving LED video walls.
  • Technical competence in sound and/or video for live events with a reasonable understanding of lighting.
  • Proven experience in technical roles, working within the live events industry, either as an employee or freelancer.
  • Experience of leading teams and/or crew on jobs.
  • First class interpersonal skills – especially regarding meeting management and written communications.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work with a variety of professionals from different disciplines producing live events.
  • Naturally pro‑active instincts, with a hunger for inspiring change and operational improvement.
  • Excellent all‑round end‑user IT skills.
