JR349: Generator Field Service Engineer Location: Norwich/Ipswich Salary: £33,750 - £40,000 Per Annum + Progression + Bonus + Overtime + Company Vehicle Overview: First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to support a growing operation, carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a fleet of rental generators. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high levels of customer service while working both independently and alongside internal teams. Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators. Diagnose faults and complete repairs on rental generators, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently. Conduct site surveys to assess customer requirements and maintenance needs. Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required. Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring company vehicles and work areas are clean, safe, and well organised. Comply with company quality, environmental, energy management, and health & safety procedures. Deliver excellent customer service while building positive working relationships with customers and colleagues. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the success of the engineering team. Skills and Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, Plant Maintenance, or a similar discipline (e.g. City & Guilds or BTEC), or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship. Proven experience servicing and repairing generator sets, particularly FG Wilson, Cummins, or similar equipment. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Previous experience in a field service engineering role is advantageous. Full UK driving licence. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ECS, CSCS or CCNSG card is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
