Overview
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. This vital role ensures that plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards maximizing up time, supporting safe operations and delivering a quality experience to customers.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment within the yard.
- Ensure all service activities are accurately documented and meet ISO and health & safety standards.
- Take ownership of the quality of equipment leaving the yard, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
- Respond to breakdowns swiftly, both in the yard and on-site, diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- When required, provide first line technical support to internal teams (engineers, sales, and office) and external customers.
- Maintain yard plant and oversee stock control advising on parts requirements.
- Support the loading/unloading and safe storage of tower cranes.
- Deliver and assist with technical training and upskilling of team members.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong background in mechanical or electrical maintenance, ideally with heavy plant or construction equipment.
- Hands‑on problem solver.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised with a focus on quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently in a yard-based environment, with flexibility to attend site when needed.
- Experience in crane maintenance or similar plant equipment is highly desirable.
