Overview: First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled (Electrically biased) Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Leigh depot.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and induction and ongoing leadership of the site maintenance team, ensuring all necessary training and development needs are identified and delivered whilst ensuring equipment, and operational processes in relation to applicable regulations are in place and applied.
- Monitor and develop performance of the engineering Team, report on KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for the call out rota and holiday planning for the Engineering Team.
- Attending breakdowns as necessary and assisting the engineering team on the shop floor.
- Responsible for the site engineering budget, ensuring spend is within budget, all variances to be discussed or reported to National Maintenance Manager.
- Manage ordering of parts and services related to the Engineering Function.
- To take ownership of the Maintenance plan and adapt and change as becomes necessary.
- Completing outstanding works on the sites maintenance system.
- Ensure computerised maintenance package is fully utilised for a suitable PPM schedule and OEM recommendations.
- Ensure significant breakdowns are investigated to root cause and that effective action to prevent recurrence is implemented.
- Support site projects and in conjunction with the designated Project Manager, ensure all technical aspects are catered for.
- Delivering best practice and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and implementing appropriate solutions.
- To ensure that all statutory compliance inspections and associated documents are completed in full and filed in the correct manner, any remedial actions are acted upon and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the management of all Health, Safety, Environmental & Risk factors, in order to deliver full compliance with Company Policies & Procedures, as well as compliance to all appropriate legislation.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Leadership, management, and development of the maintenance team.
- Knowledge of health & safety and environmental Legislation.
- Excellent control and adherence to monthly financial budget.
- Effective project management and coordination.
- Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision daily.
- A good degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
- Able to work under pressure and deliver agreed deadlines.
- Strong Electrical Knowledge.
- A good knowledge of Electrical Safety Compliance.
- Experience with industrial steam generating boilers.
- Experience with PLC, Electrical and Control System fault finding.
- Experience in the Food Sector / Pharmaceutical / FMCG.
