Working hours: Mon to Fri 37 hours per week

Overview: First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit a Learning and Development Specialist on a permanent basis due to growth to cover their Lyneham depot.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of the business unit contract teams, providing day-to-day support and direction on learning and development.
  • Delivery of accredited and non-accredited programmes for staff (and where applicable Authority personnel) across the Training business unit, including AET, CET, CAVA, IQA qualifications.
  • Design and deliver a range of learning programmes, including technical, behavioural and leadership courses.
  • Deliver training, mentoring and support to new and existing delivery staff to ensure compliance with the teaching and assessment standards and to facilitate continuous professional development.
  • Utilise best teaching and learning approaches to ensure any training interventions are maximised.
  • Use digital tools to create flexible and innovative learning environment.
  • Where appropriate maximise the use of online and group delivery.
  • Carry out capability gap analysis in conjunction with delivery teams to identify training gaps.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training interventions.
  • Drive a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Support with the development and implementation of a competency framework.
  • Provide input to the internal quality cycle process.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • L2 English and maths or equivalent
  • Angle Level 4 (ideally Level 5) or above teaching qualification
  • Level 3 Assessor qualification (CAVA)
  • Level 4 IQA qualification (or working towards)
  • H&S Level 2 qualification
  • Level 3 Coaching and Mentoring qualification
  • Extensive education / training quality experience.
  • An understanding of the Education Inspection Framework.
  • A detailed understanding of the apprenticeship environment and provision of commercial training.
  • Understanding DSAT & JSP822 Defence or Resilience Training experience.
  • Experience of delivering learning and development to staff within an apprenticeship / commercial training environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of organisational skills.
  • Strong relationship development skills.
  • Effective planning and time management.
  • Analysis of data and trends to identify improvement areas.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Understanding of government funding and Awarding Organisation rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate and support good practice through innovative teaching and learning strategies.
