Gardening Manager Location: Hayes, UB3 Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + Performance-Related Bonus Type: Permanent - Full-time Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Gardening Manager to oversee a busy gardening and grounds maintenance department. The successful candidate will manage a team of around 45 operatives and 2 Supervisors, ensuring work is efficiently planned, delivered to a high standard, and completed safely. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the Gardening Department and field-based teams. Support daily scheduling, dispatch and workload management. Lead and support Supervisors and operatives. Cover for the Operations Manager when required. Manage staff issues and escalate where necessary. Provide quotes for one-off jobs, grounds maintenance contracts and tree works. Conduct regular site inspections and ensure high-quality standards. Monitor and improve the performance and skills of field operatives. Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained. Manage client communications and maintain strong relationships. Identify opportunities for additional services. Work alongside the Operations Manager to drive continual improvements. Skills and Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in grounds maintenance. Minimum 5 years' experience managing teams in a similar environment. Good knowledge of plants, trees and garden machinery. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Good computer and email skills. Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities. Full, clean UK Driving Licence. Benefits: £45,000–£50,000 salary. Performance-related bonus after 6 months. Company vehicle. 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays. Pension scheme. Company events.
