JR181: Field Service Engineer Location: England Salary: £36,000 Per Annum (OTE £48K+) Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: Test, install, commission, plan maintenance and fault find, principally on the electrical equipment. Power and control equipment for mains frequency channel furnaces, including a range of electrical, electronic, control and mechanical ancillary equipment and refractory. The job is based from our UK Service Centre in Birmingham and the majority of working time will be spent on customer sites, in Europe and worldwide. Work along side main contractor to supervise the installation of equipment. Lead teams, giving out instructions and monitoring others. Create plans, schedules whilst monotiling and maintaining them. Skills and Qualifications: Ability to read electrical, electronic and mechanical schematics and drawings Understanding of electrical and electronic circuit theory Ability to work alone to plan and control the work schedule, diagnose faults, make repairs and supervise other workers, such as contractors. Comfortable making on the spot decisions and sharing information and decision making with customers and office support personnel. Familiarity with electrical and electronic test equipment and tools Willingness to “get hands dirty”. Most of the equipment is located in industrial environments. Computer literacy (report writing, email, presentation of data, etc) Clean UK driving licence Good health and mobility (not all work is at ground level and may have restricted access) Understanding of, and rigid adherence to health and safety policies and safe working practices.
