Salary: £31,000 - £40,000 DOE

Benefits Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Production Operator on behalf of one of our clients. Assisting the Production Team Leader in the safe and efficient running of the plant, you will undertake technical and operational duties, which include plant monitoring and maintenance to ensure maximum plant availability and performance. The successful candidate will be joining the operations team, which works a shift system covering 24 hours operation, 7 days a week. You will work an average of 38 hours a week. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To execute operational and ‘frontline’ maintenance activities in accordance with the approved processes and procedures.
  • To investigate plant problems and identify solutions.
  • To prepare technical reports and maintain appropriate records within recognised systems.
  • To complete accurate and concise shift handovers.
  • To work as an integral part of the shift team ensuring the safe and effective operations of the plant.
  • To carry out operational routines and inspections.
  • To ensure safe working practices and procedures are adhered to.
  • To support the Production Team Leader in preparation of safety documents.
  • To assist and cover duties within the fuel and ash production teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

You will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the power utility sector. Mechanical or electrical skills, including fault finding techniques. This position requires a high degree of flexibility, self-motivation & the ability to work well as part of a team.
