HM84: Content Strategist Location: Corsham | 1 day per week on site Contract: Until 31/3/2027 Salary: Competitive Day Rate | IR35: Inside Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Content Strategist on behalf of one of our clients. Within the Foundry, the Content Strategist will develop and coordinate the content and information processes and products that support the portfolio, ensuring information is accessible, accurate, consistent and aligned with Foundry priorities. The role will support stakeholder engagement, customer adoption, governance, recharging communications and business change activity. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain an overarching content strategy for the Foundry portfolio. Establish principles for how Foundry information and content should be created, structured, maintained and reviewed. Identify gaps, duplication and inconsistencies in existing content and recommend improvements. Establish a repeatable approach that can be adopted across Foundry services. Develop a coherent information architecture for Foundry content. Establish clear relationships between portfolio, service, capability, product and supporting information. Improve the discoverability and navigability of information. Develop proportionate governance for the creation, approval, publication, review and retirement of content. Define clear content ownership and responsibilities. Establish content standards, templates and quality criteria. Design practical workflows covering the content lifecycle from initial need through creation, assurance, publication, maintenance and retirement. Identify opportunities to simplify existing processes. Define how portfolio and service-level content should interact. Develop reusable templates and patterns where these improve consistency. Work with stakeholders and users to understand how different audiences discover, understand and engage with Foundry services. Take an end-to-end view of the journey across Foundry content rather than treating individual documents or pages in isolation. Identify points where unclear, fragmented or missing information creates barriers for users. Improve the organisation and management of Foundry information across relevant collaboration and publishing channels. Support effective use of SharePoint, Confluence, and (url removed) for structured, maintainable information. Establish clear principles for where different types of information should be maintained. Reduce unnecessary duplication between repositories. Skills and Qualifications: Content strategy and information architecture Experience of developing and implementing content strategies across complex digital environments. Experience of developing governance, standards, processes and workflows covering the lifecycle of content. Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and how content forms part of end-to-end user journeys. Ability to understand organisational strategy and translate strategic or policy intent into practical content approaches. Stakeholder relationship management. Digital content experience. Agile working. SC Clearance. Desirable: Defence, Government or wider public-sector environments. Digital products and services.
