AL976: HGV & Light Vehicle Technician

Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Light Vehicle Technician to join a growing commercial vehicle workshop in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of vehicles and trailers. Diagnostic experience is advantageous, and HGV licence training may be available after 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain and repair HGVs, light vehicles and trailers.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT.
- Attend roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles.
- Complete job cards and service documentation accurately.
- Liaise with the parts department to source required parts.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and workshop safety.
- Follow all Health & Safety and customer site requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and attend training courses.
Skills and Experience:
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, or proven relevant experience.
- Previous motor trade experience within the last 2 years.
- Experience working on HGVs and/or light vehicles.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- HGV Licence desirable but not essential.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach to working hours and duties.
- Own tools required.
