Location: Culham, Abingdon
Salary: Up to £32.80 per hour
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking two Electricians on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidates will provide ongoing electrical installation delivery across the Culham site, leading on a wide range of electrical work within an industrial environment. This will include installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance and repair, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with current legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
The role is full-time and site-based at Culham. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading installation teams where required and providing guidance and supervision to less experienced electricians and apprentices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking responsibility for the installation phase of projects, ensuring Safe Systems of Work are followed and projects are delivered to agreed timescales.
- Leading installation teams and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Installing indoor and outdoor electrical distribution equipment in compliance with current regulations and local standards.
- Undertaking the construction, wiring and commissioning of electrical control cubicles.
- Carrying out testing, commissioning and fault-finding on electrical control and distribution equipment.
- Setting work and providing guidance and supervision to less experienced electricians and electrical apprentices.
- Working across a variety of projects with diverse teams across the site.
- Prioritising daily tasks and allocating work to team members in accordance with project requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of safety at all times.
- Complying with all relevant safety procedures, legislation and codes of practice.
Skills and Qualifications:
- ECS Gold Card is essential.
- Previous experience working within an industrial or commercial environment.
- Demonstrable ability to work safely in accordance with a written safe system of work (WSSOW).
- Supervisory experience is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise and balance workloads effectively.
- Ideally, knowledge and experience of working with large electrical distribution networks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise electrical teams where required.
- BPSS clearance will need to be attained
