Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Assembler on behalf of one of our clients.
This role is predominantly a practical hands-on role. Supporting various teams & facilities in the provision of mechanical engineering services and assisting in the delivery of mechanical engineering project.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers, technicians and skilled workers with daily tasks.
- Load, unload, move and organise materials and equipment.
- Prepare work areas, materials and equipment for engineering activities.
- Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties in the work areas.
- Assist with basic assembly, dismantling, as supervised.
- Use basic hand tools and equipment safely when trained and authorised.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and correctly use required PPE.
- Report hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Assist with deliveries and storage of materials.
- Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, construction workshop, or similar environment is desirable.
- Good practical and manual skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of carrying out manual work and handling materials.
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety.
- BPSS Security Clearance or the ability to obtain this.
