Your Mission
We're looking for a creative and motivated Designer to help bring the First Mile brand to life across marketing, sales, and digital experiences. This role is ideal for someone early in their design career who's looking to develop across brand, marketing, and UX design. - Marketing design: Design creative assets for marketing campaigns across digital and print — including emails, social media, web pages, pitch decks, leaflets, and presentations.
- UX & digital experience: Support UX design for thefirstmile.co.uk, including wireframes, page layouts, and basic prototyping, with a focus on improving usability and conversion. You'll work closely with Marketing and Performance teams to iterate and improve the onsite experience.
- Sales enablement: Create and update sales assets that help clearly communicate our offering and support the winning of new business.
- Content support: Assist with the creation of visual content such as videos, photoshoots, blog imagery, podcast artwork, and customer-facing materials like recycling posters and window stickers.
- Design execution: Deliver design tasks to a high standard and on time, following our design request process and receiving feedback constructively.
- Learning & collaboration: Contribute ideas, ask questions, and collaborate across teams to develop your design, UX, and commercial understanding.
Our Values
- Amaze Customers – through thoughtful, user-friendly design.
- Love the Planet – create with purpose and impact in mind.
- Be One Team – learn, collaborate, and grow together.
What We're Looking For
- Design fundamentals: A solid grounding in visual and digital design, with examples of marketing or UX work (from roles, placements, freelance work, or personal projects).
- UX awareness: An understanding of UX principles such as user journeys, hierarchy, accessibility, and designing with the end user in mind.
- Creative thinking: A curiosity for design trends and the ability to generate ideas, while being open to guidance and feedback.
- Tools & technical skills: Experience using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, and PowerPoint. Some experience with wireframing or prototyping tools is a plus.
- Attention to detail: Strong eye for layout, typography, and visual consistency.
- Communication & mindset: Clear communicator, eager to learn, collaborative, and enthusiastic about design, sustainability, and making a positive impact.
