We are looking for a proactive and organised Supply Chain Assistant to support the Supply Chain team in managing Supplier performance and operational issues across our national waste management network. The role will be heavily Salesforce-based and will act as a key link between internal teams and external Suppliers, ensuring service levels, compliance and commercial performance are maintained to the First Mile standard. This is a fast-paced, problem-solving role, ideal for someone who enjoys operational detail, stakeholder management and driving continuous improvement across our network.
Responsibilities
- Supplier & Operations Support
- Manage day-to-day Supplier issues via Salesforce, including:
- Missed or failed collections
- Service reports and operational queries
- Customer escalations relating to Suppliers
- Liaise with Suppliers to resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Salesforce & Data Management
- Log, update and manage Supplier cases in Salesforce
- Ensure accurate records of service performance, issues and resolutions
- Product reports and dashboards on Supplier performance and KPIs
- Performance & Relationship Management
- Support Supplier performance management reviews (monthly/quarterly)
- Track KPIs such as service success, response times and Supplier compliance
- Prepare data and insights for performance management reviews
- Compliance & Governance
- Support compliance checks including:
- Waste Transfer Notes (WTNs)
- Duty of Care checks
- Supplier accreditations and licences
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring issues and trends in Supplier performance
- Suggest and implement process improvements across the Supply Chain team
- Lead on and support on projects led by Supply Chain Manager or Head of Supply Chain
Requirements
This is a busy, high-volume operational role involving a significant amount of email and phone communication with Suppliers and internal teams. The Supply Chain Assistant will handle multiple cases at any one time and will be expected to prioritise effectively, respond quickly and keep things moving. It’s well-suited to someone who enjoys a dynamic environment, problem-solving in real time and being at the centre of day-to-day operations.
Essential
- Strong organisation and administrative skills
