People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Middleton, Manchester on a full-time ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment.
This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Rates of Pay: £20.06 per hour. Overtime after 48 hours paid at x1.5.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Sunday (any 5 out of 7). Start times between 04:00 and 06:00.

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
- Delivering food products to store locations
- Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Reporting vehicle defects or issues promptly
- Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
- Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
- Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
- Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- A minimum of two years Category CE driving experience preferred
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10 or DD10 endorsements)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
Training:
- Paid site induction
- Full industry-related training
- Ongoing support throughout your assignment
- Experience handling double-decker trailers would be advantageous
- Additional training and support provided where required
