Job summary
The Careers and Events Coordinator supports recruitment, careers guidance, and events activity to attract talent and promote the organisation’s brand. The role coordinates recruitment campaigns, liaises with candidates and stakeholders, and supports interview and vacancy management. You will plan and deliver internal, external, and school‑based events, managing logistics, staff attendance, promotional materials, and event calendars. Working closely with Marketing and Business Development, you’ll help promote events and recruitment activity across social media and other channels. This role also involves managing events budgets and subscriptions, delivering career guidance initiatives, and building strong relationships with schools, professional bodies, and industry networks.
Duties and responsibilities
- Recruitment
- Promote recruitment service (work with BD/Marketing)
- Liaise with clients/delegates
- CV screening / phone interviews
- Managing candidate databases
- Attend events
- Ensure merchandise and flyers are in supply for those attending events
- Work with Marketing for promotional materials
- Analyse stats to assess viability of events
- Liaise with external bodies to book stands/tables (inc Awards/Dinners/Expos)
- Arrange staff attendance for all events
- Manage events calendar
- Work with Marketing for promotional purposes
- Analyse stats to assess viability of events
- Full management of events inc. booking speakers, promotion, communications, facilities
- Organisation of Accountancy Academies
- Organisation of round tables
- Organise coffee and careers Junior networking events
- Organise and run FI Yorkshire online open events (those who miss out on Academies)
- Manage chamber subscriptions
- Manage events budget
- Manage ad‑hoc subscriptions
- Collaboration with Marketing and BD teams to plan activity
- Monitor social media channels, respond to and engage with comments
- Plan campaigns for all events and recruitment activity and work with Marketing to ensure execution
Qualifications and skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities
- Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to support recruitment processes and careers initiatives
- Experience coordinating promotional activity and social media campaigns
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms
- Proactive, professional, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
