SUMMARY
Involved in the design, analysis, and development efforts for the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects and resolves complex business problems. Includes modeling, building, and populating the Data Warehouse, as well as providing reporting capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses business rules; performs source to target data mapping; designs, reviews, implements and optimizes ETL processes.
- Reviews project plans; develops and tests specifications; performs data analysis.
- Provides development support for existing systems; troubleshoots data and/or system issues, builds and extends toolsets.
- Creates and/or maintains batch jobs.
- Creates and maintains online systems and printed documentation.
- Provides data analysis and identifies data-related issues within the Data Warehouse environment, as well as sources systems as needed.
- Provides quality service satisfaction by possessing strong customer service skills.
- Creates and maintains the logical and physical dimensional data models.
- Works within an agile development methodology.
- Participates in peer code reviews.
- Provide feedback to junior data warehouse engineers.
- Effectively manage time by analyzing workload, assign priorities, and maintain focus on productive endeavors.
- Work with limited supervision to complete tasks assigned.
- Engage as a productive and positive member of the data warehouse team.
- Assists in managing projects and processes related to the data warehouse.
- Coaches and reviews work of lower-level data warehouse engineers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents and to read and interpret data schemas, with emphasis on SQL Server Implementations.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to prepare presentations using original or innovative style, techniques and make persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical concepts to tasks such as frequency distributions, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
- Ability to apply principles, logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor\’s Degree from four-year College or University in Computer Science or related technical field required or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10 plus years experience in data engineering or data warehousing and/or a similar data developing role required
- Experience using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SSIS, or other leading ETL tools preferred. Experience with Spark, Hadoop, or cloud technologies preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
No frequent travel requirements, except for 1-2 annual trips to a First Interstate hub location for 2-3 days to work with and meet colleagues. Potential travel for annual industry specific conference as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $78,540 to $125,730 per year (in CO & WA) and $71,400 to $114,300 per year in MN and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Additionally, this role is eligible to receive annual discretionary cash bonuses. Benefits available for this position include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid Federal holidays. Please note this information is provided for those hired in Colorado, Washington and Minnesota only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Minnesota, Colorado and Washington with compensation that aligns with your location.
