Main Purpose of Role
Warehouse based role responsible for ensuring our window and door products are ready to go out on time, quality checked, including all associated paperwork. This includes supporting the loading and unloading of vehicles with product which requires physical stamina. The accurate updating of databases and maintaining all aspects of stock control is a core part of the role. Being able to work effectively in a small team and taking responsibility for the warehouse security plus its health and safety environment is essential.
Main Duties:
- Taking control of deliveries: Checking and entering all product deliveries on to the database and allocating items to a specific job number.
- Quality control: Checking correct sizes and establishing good quality on all frames, glass, and any other delivered items. When errors are identified for missing items, email the order processor urgently.
- For remakes: Enter on remake report and email remake team at Head Office.
- Stock control and management: Daily β Monitoring supplies issued and updating the depot current stock level share file, ordering stock replenishment. Annual β Completing the annual stock take.
- Organising workflow: Checking in advance to ensure that the next few days work is on track and that stock is available.
- Compile customer packs: Check finance docs using the installer daily sheet.
- Organising fitters: Control the smooth flow of fitters collecting their work from the depot in the morning and ensuring they put rubbish/recycling/glass in the correct skips.
- Health and Safety: Carry out basic risk assessments as required and weekly fire alarm checks.
- Responsible for the appearance, clearing of the yard (including regular sweeping for screws/glass etc.) and security of the site.
- Ordering skips and organising recyclable materials and their collection and carrying out banks man duties when required.
- Checking PPE and ordering replacements where necessary.
- Securing, processing, and preparing documentation for the receipt of cash or cheques received from installers, and preparing Security Plus collections.
- Local First Aid and Fire Marshal responsibilities.
- Resolving queries related to installations as quickly as possible.
- Undertaking any other reasonable management requests in relation to the role.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL & ATTRIBUTES
- Knowledge of window and door industry products.
- A working knowledge of frame and roof manufacturing and their relevant fitting processes.
- Experience of working in the construction industry.
- Well organised, with attention to detail and good at managing own time.
- Happy to follow management instructions.
- Ability to work to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
- Possessing physical stamina.
- Displays a βcan doβ attitude & a team player.
- Basic IT skills and ability to learn basic database input processes.
- Good oral communication.
About This Role
Candidate should have the ability to travel to and from our Depot. The location may not be on any bus route (start time) or easily accessible unless you have your own transport.
