About the role β Skilled Engineer
We are looking for a fully qualified Skilled Engineer with previous experience and knowledge of PCV/HGV vehicles. For helping keep our fleet on the road, you\βll earn a good salary and great benefits (see below). We\βll also provide your overalls and all the tools and equipment needed.
As a Skilled Engineer at our Bath depot, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, servicing, and replacing parts as needed
- Identifying issues accurately and recommending the correct method of repair and parts required
- Performing routine inspections and servicing using handheld data capture devices (where applicable)
- Attending roadside breakdowns and supporting vehicle recoveries
- Road-testing vehicles to confirm issues or check work after repairs
Location: Bath β Weston Island Depot
Working Hours: 39 hours per week. Early shifts 6am-2pm, 5 days out of 7
Hourly Rate: Β£18.70 per hour
About you
- Do you have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification as a mechanic and experience working on HGV, bus or coach?
- A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)
- Do you have a valid UK driver\βs licence?
- Experience of working with buses & coaches would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered (HGV)
- Do you have vehicle/autoelectrical experience/knowledge?
