We're seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team at Fulwell Garage to support the accurate and timely delivery of weekly and monthly payrolls. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Prepare, validate and submit payroll data within agreed payroll deadlines
  • Process employeelifecycle changes including new starters, leavers, contract amendments, salary changes and pay progression adjustments
  • Administervariable payments such as overtime, allowances, expenses, holiday pay, bonuses and deductions
  • Processstatutory payments and deductions, including SSP, SMP, PAYE, National Insurance, student loans and attachment of earnings orders
  • Manage pensionadministration, including auto-enrolment, pension contributions, postponementsand salary sacrifice arrangements
  • Maintain accuratepayroll and employee records, ensuring data integrity across payroll and HR systems
  • Act as a first point of contact forpayroll queries, providing timely, professionaland confidential support to employees and managers
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepanciesensuring issues are addressed efficiently and accurately
  • Completepayroll reconciliations and support payroll journal preparation, reporting and financial controls
  • Producepayroll reports and provide accurate payroll information to Finance, HR, operational teams and external stakeholders
  • Support payroll audits, year-end activitiesand statutory reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliancewith HMRC regulations, employment legislation, pension legislationand company policies
  • Contribute tocontinuous improvement initiativesidentifying opportunities to enhance payroll processes and efficiencies

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer or similar payroll role with a strong understanding of end-to-end UK payroll processing
  • Good knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions,statutory payments and payroll legislation
  • Strongnumerical, analyticaland reconciliation skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience usingpayroll and HR systems with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiplepriorities, meet strict payroll deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Strongproblem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Excellentcommunication and customer service skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly
  • CIPPqualification (or working towards), experience working with outsourced payroll providers and knowledge of pension auto-enrolment would be advantageous
