An opportunity has arisen for three Allocation Supervisors to be based at Wandsworth Garage. The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient allocation of resources is met so we can deliver an optimum service with minimum lost mileage and maximum income. Allocation Supervisors work closely with driving staff within their garage to ensure that allocation of resources are met. They also have a specific duty to work closely as a team and liaise with Managers & Service Controllers to ensure optimum service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Determining staff availability
- Allocating staff to cover spare duties, overtime and allocation of rest days operating within the garage
- Allocate GDT's to new starters for route & type training
- Dealing with drivers who are late or absent, including those calling in sick and recording in the system and recording lateness and absence
- Responsibility for introduction of new rotas and schedules and communicating this to all staff via notices and in person
- Dealing with staff queries on a range of subjects including payroll, rotas & schedules, holiday requests
- Ensuring an understanding of and compliance with the Company procedures for health & safety, specifically reporting accidents and defective equipment
- You will enter data into the allocations systems and undertake payroll related tasks
Skills and Experience Required:
- Good attendance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
- Ability to multi-task in order to handle a varied and busy workload
- Good eye for detail for data entry work
- Proficient computer skills in Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good knowledge of national and international driver hours
