Position: PSV/HGV Nightshift Mechanic

Location: Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH

Contracted Hours: 37 per week (permanent + overtime available)

Shifts: Nightshift 19:00pm-06:00am 4 on 4 off

Pay Rate: £22.91 per hour

Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses across Glasgow? We are looking for NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Engineers – preferably with HGV or PSV experience, however we also welcome applications from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change. We offer technical up‑skilling and career progression, we'll also provide your PPE and basic tools you'll need to succeed in your role, as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
  • Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
  • Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
  • Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
  • Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You:

  • Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred?
  • Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi‑skill?
  • Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this.
