About the Role - Engineering Supervisor - Nightshift
Lead the charge in keeping Glasgow moving – we’re looking for a hands‑on Engineering Supervisor to join us at our Caledonia depot and play a pivotal role in keeping our fleet running smoothly and safely. You’ll lead and develop a high‑performing engineering team, manage both planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure our vehicles meet all regulatory standards. From overseeing vehicle availability and service reliability to supporting stock control and warranty processes, this is your opportunity to take charge of engineering excellence. Role Specifics:
- Supervise the maintenance and servicing of the fleet alongside the Engineering Manager.
- Induct and develop an engaged, talented, and high performing engineering team.
- Efficiently allocate planned and unplanned work across the engineering team, including covering on the day absence.
- Ensure the availability of vehicles in line with operational requirements.
- Support the Stores Manager to ensure optimum management of stock and accurate and timely processing of warranty claims.
- Maintain accurate records for all aspects of engineering standards and performance, including fleet and environmental management.
- Conduct any disciplinary, grievance or absentee management reviews in accordance with Company policy.
- Work alongside depot operational and engineering team members to effectively manage all aspects of service performance, including vehicle allocation, breakdowns, changeovers and punctuality and reliability of services.
Location: Glasgow Caledonia, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH
Working Hours: 38 hours per week - nightshift 5 over 7 days
Salary: £49170 per annum
About You:
- Do you hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an Engineering field?
- Do you have knowledge of safe operation of workshop equipment and previous supervisory experience?
- Are you organised and IT literate?
- Do you have a full clean UK Driving License?
- A PCV licence is desirable, but not essential.
- Do you have Right to Work in the UK?
