Position: Automotive Electrician
Location: Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH
Contracted Hours: 38 per week (full time & permanent + overtime available)
Working Hours: Dayshift and Nightshift available - can be discussed at screening
Pay Rate: £20.50 per hour dayshift and £22.91 per hour nightshift

About the Role
We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Electrician for our First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot – we would love to hear from qualified candidates with electrically biased experience and any ex‑Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change. We offer technical up‑skilling and career progression; your PPE is provided as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and carry out vehicle electrical repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
- Diagnose vehicle electrical faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used.
- Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair.
- Fully comply with all HSE legislation along with Group Policies.
- Fully comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain and develop technical skills as required.
About You
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred.
- Ability to multi‑skill within an Engineering Environment with preferably electrically biased experience.
- A valid UK driving licence; a PCV licence is desirable; ability to obtain PCV licence is essential.
