At First Bus, we\’re leading the way in sustainable transport with one of the UK\’s largest fleets of zero-emission, state-of-the-art buses. Our engineering teams are driving this transformation — and we\’re looking for a Day Shift Engineering Supervisor to join us at our Basildon depot.
The Role
As an Engineering Supervisor, you\’ll lead our workshop team to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. You\’ll manage daily operations, develop your team, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Supervising vehicle maintenance and servicing to statutory standards
- Allocating work to resources
- Supporting the Stores Manager with stock control and warranty claims
- Ensuring accurate engineering and performance records are maintained
- Leading on team development, induction, and performance management

What we\\\’re looking for
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering – desirable
- PCV licence desirable (training towards this available)
- Previous supervisory experience in an engineering/workshop environment
