Do you want to be part of our energetic team of HGV/PSV/bus mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses? Due to fleet expansion, we are now looking for an additional PSV/HGV Technician to join our busy engineering team in First Bus Chelmsford. We offer technical up-skilling and career progression, and we will also provide all the PPE and basic tools you'll need to succeed in your role. This could be a great opportunity for you to widen your skill base and work on our state-of-the-art electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:- Vehicle fault diagnostics, servicing, repairs and vehicle inspections in accordance with First Bus Standard Engineering Operating Procedures.
- To fully comply with all HS&E legislation along with Group Policies.
- To fully comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain and develop technical skills as required.
- Attend and assist on vehicle breakdowns.
Location: Chelmsford
Hours: 39 hours per week, 4 days out of 7 (including weekends) on a rotating pattern of early shifts 05:00-15:00 and late shifts 14:30-00:30
Pay: £23.69 per hour - £48,043 per annum - weekend premium rate £24.72 and overtime readily available.
About you:- Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/IMI in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent qualification? (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2)?
- Do you have a flexible approach to working hours?
- Do you hold a clean valid UK drivers licence?
- A PCV licence is desirable or show a willingness to obtain PCV licence is essential as we will help you obtain your PCV.
- Experience of working with buses/coaches would be advantageous, but not a necessity.
