About the role
Ensuring our fleet of buses are in tip-top condition; the successful Bus Paint Prepper will beresponsible for the following duties:
- To carry out the painting preparation of minor repairs.
- To ensure the work area/Spray shop is kept clean and tidy.
- To prepare surfaces for painting using glass paper, masking tape, electric and pneumatic sanders.
- Filling minor repairs using different techniques in readiness for paint.
- To carry out paint mixing, surface preparation and tool cleaning entailing the use / mixing of chemicals.
- To carry out sign writing or other artwork on different vehicle types.
- Removal of decals/stickers in readiness for paint prep
- Finishing a vehicle that has been sprayed β fitting small decals and legal lettering.
Location: Adderley Green, Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: 39 per week, Mon-Fri 7:30am-3:30pm with an early finish 1 day per week
Hourly Rate: Β£12.82 per hour
About you
- Experienced in the removal and application of decals, transfers and other finishes to vehicle bodywork
- Experienced with the use and application of different types of solvents, paints and other hazardous materials including metallic colours, pearls and water based paints
- Familiar with painting techniques using brushes, rollers and spray equipment
- Familiar with the safe operation of workshop equipment including ladders, scaffolding and general portable equipment (i.e. electric and pneumatic hand tools etc.)
- Flexible β you may attend vehicle manufacturer\βs product training courses, this may involve an overnight stay
