About the Role

As a Bus Driver, you will be an essential part of our community, providing reliable transportation services that our customers count on daily. Your responsibilities will include safely transporting passengers to work, school, and important appointments, as well as assisting those running errands or heading to special events. By ensuring a smooth and secure journey, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of local residents and helping them stay connected to their community.

These are permanent, full-time positions, requiring a commitment of 39 hours per week across a variety of shift patterns, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Trainee Bus Driver: £13.58 per hour, rising to £14.77 per hour after 12 months.

Experienced Bus Driver: £14.77 per hour.

PCV Licence Holders

Join us as a qualified driver and receive a £3,000 bonus. This payment is paid in two instalments over 12 months (1st payment after 6 months of service, 2nd payment after 12 months of service). To be eligible for this payment you must not have worked for First Bus in the last 12 months.

Information for Trainees

To apply as a Trainee Bus Driver, you must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 6 months of driving experience. No prior experience driving larger vehicles is necessary, as we offer extensive training on our modern buses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Operation: Drive buses along designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Safety Monitoring: Maintain passenger safety and comfort throughout the journey.
• Communication: Provide timely updates to dispatch about any incidents, delays, or mechanical issues.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

• For Experienced Drivers: A valid PCV license and up-to-date CPC certification.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with passengers and team members.
• Customer Service Orientation: A commitment to delivering high-quality service and fostering a welcoming environment.
• Safety-Conscious: A proactive approach to safety and a track record of responsible driving.
