First For Education are currently recruiting a reliable and practical Design Technology (DT) Technician to support secondary schools across Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills who enjoys working in an educational environment and supporting students and teaching staff. The role is ideal for an experienced DT Technician or someone with relevant workshop experience looking to work within schools.
The Role:
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons (e.g. resistant materials, graphics, textiles, or food technology)
- Maintaining DT workshops, machinery and tools in line with health and safety regulations
- Supporting teachers during practical lessons when required
- Managing stock levels, ordering materials and organising resources
- Ensuring a safe, clean and well-organised working environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working as a DT Technician, workshop assistant, or in a practical/technical role
- Has good knowledge of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment
- Is organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Enjoys working with young people in a school setting
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS on the update service
