First For Education are currently recruiting a reliable and practical Design Technology (DT) Technician to support secondary schools across Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills who enjoys working in an educational environment and supporting students and teaching staff. The Role:

  • Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons (e.g. resistant materials, graphics, textiles, or food technology)
  • Maintaining DT workshops, machinery and tools in line with health and safety regulations
  • Supporting teachers during practical lessons when required
  • Managing stock levels, ordering materials and organising resources
  • Ensuring a safe, clean and well-organised working environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working as a DT Technician, workshop assistant, or in a practical/technical role
  • Has good knowledge of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment
  • Is organised, proactive and able to work independently
  • Enjoys working with young people in a school setting
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS on the update service
