The Education Specialists are seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream school in Birmingham, working with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning. Specifically must be experienced with Braille. This is a full-time, long-term position, supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom environment. The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis. The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and pupil support, with a collaborative staff team and clear support structures in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a mainstream setting.

SEN Teaching Assistant role requirements:
- Previous experience working with Braille

- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs

- Help manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies
- Encourage engagement, independence and confidence
- Work closely with the SENCO, teacher and wider support staff
