First For Education is seeking an experienced, passionate and committed SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in South Birmingham, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated communication difficulties.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a specialist SEND environment, where personalised education, emotional wellbeing and positive relationships are at the heart of learning.
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment, making this an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teacher who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their individual potential.

SEND Teacher role requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist setting
- Strong understanding of Autism (ASC), SEMH and associated communication needs
- Experience implementing personalised learning strategies and supporting emotional regulation
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to individual learning styles and abilities
- Strong classroom management and positive behaviour support skills
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach to teaching
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
The successful SEND Teacher will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Support pupils with Autism, SEMH and associated behavioural and communication difficulties
- Create a structured, supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and support pupils with emotional regulationMonitor, assess and track individual pupil progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, where applicable
- Build positive relationships that support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and essential life skills(url removed)
