As a Yard Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operations within the yard and warehouse environment. This role involves ensuring efficient and safe execution of tasks, maintaining stock levels, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and overseeing equipment and people operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and Manage Yard Operations: Coordinate and supervise all yard activities to ensure efficient and safe execution of tasks.
- Ensure Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures to promote a safe working environment.
- Manage Stock Control: Monitor and control stock levels, implement stock control procedures and conduct regular stock counts.
- Maintain Yard Environment: Keep the yard clean, organised, and safe by ensuring correct storage and handling of materials.
- Oversee Equipment Operations: Manage the operation of forklift trucks and other yard machinery.
- Ensure Order Fulfilment: Supervise product picking, packing, and loading to ensure accurate and timely orders.
- Manage Documentation: Maintain all necessary paperwork, including manifests, delivery notes, and stock records.
- Conduct Quality Inspections: Inspect products for damage and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Train and Develop Colleagues: Provide training and development to ensure all colleagues have the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Resolve Issues and Problems: Address any issues or problems that arise in the yard. Find solutions to maintain efficient operations.
- Key holder: Holding keys for the premises, you are responsible for securing the site and managing access.
