The Mobile Operations Support Manager is a key operational leadership role responsible for supporting performance, consistency and standards across the First Fence depot network. This role acts as a trusted operational leader across multiple sites, stepping in to lead depots during periods of leave or increased demand, while also supporting wider operational improvements across the business. You will take full responsibility for depot performance when on-site — leading teams, maintaining standards and ensuring service levels remain high — while also working closely with the Operations team to drive consistency, improve processes and embed best practice across all locations. This is not a passive cover role. You will be expected to lead from the front, challenge where needed and leave each depot in a stronger position than you found it. This role is ideal for an experienced Depot Manager or Operations Manager looking to apply their skills across multiple sites and make a wider operational impact.

  • Depot Leadership: Take full operational responsibility for depots when providing cover, ensuring continuity of leadership, performance and service delivery.
  • Team Management: Lead multi-functional depot teams including drivers, yard operatives, warehouse staff and administrative colleagues. Maintain strong engagement, clear direction and accountability across all roles.
  • Operational Performance: Maintain and improve depot performance across key operational metrics including service delivery, stock accuracy, productivity and compliance.
  • Stock & Yard Operations: Ensure yards are well organised, stock is controlled accurately and operational processes are followed to support efficient picking, loading and dispatch.
  • Health & Safety: Act as the site safety lead, ensuring compliance with all procedures and promoting a strong safety culture across all depots.
  • Operational Consistency: Support the implementation and adherence to standard operating procedures across all depots, helping to drive a consistent approach to operations.
  • Improvement & Projects: Work alongside the Operations team to support depot audits, process improvements, stock initiatives and operational projects across the network.
  • Transport Support: Oversee local delivery operations to ensure efficient scheduling and high levels of on-time delivery performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Depot Managers, Customer Service and Sales teams to resolve operational issues and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
