Position
We are seeking a highly capable and driven Operations Director to lead and improve operational performance across depots and service delivery. This senior leadership role is fully accountable for operational standards, efficiency, and customer service across multi-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee dayâtoâday operations across depots, delivering high customer service.
- Set clear operational standards and ensure consistent execution across the business.
- Drive improvements in service levels, stock control, cost efficiency, and compliance.
- Own and deliver operational KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement practical, sustainable process improvements and develop SOPs.
- Lead, develop, and hold senior operational managers accountable. Coach and manage a highâperformance team, ensuring talent development and retention.
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Procurement to align operational and commercial goals.
- Manage supplier performance and operational risk.
- Support strategic growth initiatives while maintaining operational control.
- Ensure health & safety, compliance, and company policies are adhered to at all times.
- Transport strategy: optimise routing and fleet management for costâeffectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Operations Director with multiâsite operations, logistics, warehousing.
- Demonstrable experience improving service levels and operational performance.
- Comfortable managing underperformance and driving accountability.
- Dataâdriven, strong experience using KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Commercially aware, balancing cost control and service delivery.
- Strong leadership and people development skills.
- Pragmatic, handsâon, simplifying complex operations.
- Crossâfunction advocacy: represent operations ensuring alignment with manufacturing, sales, and operations.
- Continuous audit and refinement.
