We are looking for an experienced and driven Marketing Manager to lead our marketing team and take ownership of the First Fence brand.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring our brand is strong, consistent and recognised across all areas of the business.

You will lead the marketing team and oversee brand management, social media, content, campaigns, events, exhibitions, merchandise and marketing materials.

You will work closely with the E-commerce, SEO and Paid Media teams to make sure all areas of marketing work together, but you will not be responsible for managing these specialist areas.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, organised, commercially minded and confident managing people, with the ability to turn ideas into action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Management
  • Own and manage the First Fence brand across the business.
  • Ensure all marketing and customer-facing materials follow brand guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong brand standards across digital, print, depots, vehicles, signage, clothing and customer materials.
  • Ensure the brand is consistent across all customer touchpoints.
  • Develop new ideas and campaigns to increase brand awareness.
  • Manage branded merchandise, workwear and promotional products.
  • Manage external creative suppliers and agencies where required.
  • Social Media & Content
  • Own the overall social media strategy and content plan.
  • Manage activity across Linked In, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube.
  • Ensure regular, engaging and relevant content is produced.
  • Work with the marketing team and content creator to plan photography, video and other creative content.
  • Increase engagement, followers, brand awareness and customer interaction.
  • Identify opportunities to showcase products, projects, customers, employees and company activity.
  • Monitor social media performance and use results to improve future activity.
  • Marketing Campaigns
  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns to support company and sales targets.
  • Work closely with Sales to understand priorities and identify marketing opportunities.
  • Support product launches and new product campaigns.
  • Develop campaigns around key products, sectors, services and customer groups.
  • Work closely with the SEO and Paid Media teams to ensure campaigns are joined up across all channels.
  • Work with E-commerce to ensure marketing activity supports website performance and sales.
  • Coordinate campaign activity across relevant marketing channels.
  • Review campaign performance and make improvements based on results.
  • E-commerce, SEO & Paid Media Collaboration
  • Work closely with the E-commerce team to ensure the brand and customer experience are consistent across the website.
  • Work closely with the SEO team to support content and campaigns that improve organic visibility.
  • Work closely with the Paid Media team to ensure paid campaigns align with wider marketing activity and brand messaging.
  • Ensure campaign messaging, creative and content are consistent across organic, paid and website activity.
  • Share customer, product and campaign insight with these teams to help improve performance.
  • Coordinate activity between teams to avoid duplication and make sure campaigns are delivered effectively.

The Marketing Manager will not be responsible for managing SEO, PPC or E-commerce.

  • Manage the company's marketing activity around trade shows, exhibitions and events.
  • Plan stand branding, promotional materials, merchandise and supporting campaigns.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure events generate strong customer engagement and leads.
  • Support customer events, webinars and other marketing-led activities.
  • Review event performance and ROI.
  • Team Management
  • Lead, manage and develop the marketing team.
  • Set clear objectives, responsibilities and KPIs for each team member.
  • Plan workloads and manage priorities across the team.
  • Ensure key projects are delivered on time.
  • Hold regular team meetings and one-to-ones.
  • Support team development and training.
  • Manage performance and address issues where required.
  • Encourage new ideas and a positive, creative working environment.
  • Ensure the team understands the wider business goals and how marketing supports them.
  • Commercial & Business Support
  • Work closely with Sales, E-commerce, SEO and Paid Media teams.
  • Understand customer needs and use insight to improve marketing activity.
  • Support lead generation, customer retention and sales growth.
  • Work with Sales to develop campaigns around key products and customer groups.
  • Monitor marketing spend and ensure activity delivers value for money.
  • Report on marketing performance and key KPIs to senior management.
  • Keep up to date with competitors, market trends and new marketing opportunities.
