We are looking for a proactive and confident Health & Safety Co-ordinator to support and continually improve Health & Safety standards across our manufacturing, fabrication and UK depot operations.
This is a hands-on role with a strong presence on the factory floor, alongside H&S administration and regular travel to our UK depots. You will work closely with managers, supervisors and employees to identify risks, improve working practices, maintaincompliance and promote a positive safety culture.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident communicating with people at all levels of the business.
You should be comfortable working in a busy industrial environment involving steel fabrication, welding, machinery, forklifts, lifting operations and material handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular Health & Safety inspections and workplace safety tours across our factory, fabrication areas and UK depots.
- Identify hazards and unsafe working practices, working with employees and managers to implement practical improvements.
- Prepare and maintain risk assessments, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Record and investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Deliver or coordinate H&S inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings and training.
- Monitor statutory inspections and compliance relating to machinery, lifting equipment, forklifts and other workplace equipment.
- Support compliance with relevant UK H&S legislation, including COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, and RIDDOR.
- Support internal and external audits and the maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Maintain accurate H&S records, action trackers, KPIs and management information.
- Visit company depots and operational sites throughout the UK to provide H&S support, carry out inspections and help maintain consistent standards across the business.
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence on the factory floor, professionally challenging unsafe practices where necessary.
- Work with employees and managers to promote continuous improvement and a positive Health & Safety culture.
